Kristen Shipley, a former intern with Facebook and Instagram, along with Andre' White, an Apple Technical Associate, presented tips to the students on how to effectively brand themselves on social media through games and fun scenarios.
Students were very receptive to the interactive presentation created by our two guests. Stimulating conversation was introduced throughout each session on the best outcomes and advice for healthy branding.
For this program, The Village created a life-size Monopoly game that allowed students to work on real-life scenarios in an effort to save money.
Marcus Ferby, Vice President of Internal Affairs at NC A&T State University 2016-17, presented information on financial literacy and spoke with the students on how to save money.

Entrepreneurship Fair
Obi Akpuda, student at UNC-G and Co-Founder of Noir and TrapCode, discussed the advancements of future of the technology field and encouraged them to learn more about coding and programming. We are hoping to have Mr. Akpuda mentor our little brothers who are aspiring engineers this fall in coding/programming.
Lacey Evans, Founder of the Purple Prom Project, showcased her organization where she raises money for low-income students in efforts of sending them to prom. Did we mention the students also get a scholarship? Way to go, Lacey!

Resume Workshop
Leadership Team members, Anthony McEachin and Jacouri Givens, worked closely with two of our little brothers who are seniors. They formatted their resumes to market their field of study on a college level.
Big Brother Tony Crandell, Jr., assisted the little brothers who had yet to make a resume. He provided them with templates to make updating their resumes much easier.

One of our little brothers, Gerard Rankin II, is a rising junior on the Dudley Football Team. He has big goals on going to school and being an academically-inclined athlete. We are happy to help him grow as a successful, young man.
Carter Williams, a freshman at NC A&T State University, is one of our big brothers in The Village. Carter plays a huge role in mentoring our little brothers, especially the athletes.
