FAQ's

Q: Do I have to be a current college student to be a big brother in The Village?

A: No, you don't! The Village aims to put a college presence back into our schools. Recent graduates of local colleges/universities are also eligible to apply. Visit our Apply Now page to get more instructions.

Q: How does the organization recruit the little brothers from the local high schools? Is there a requirement for those students?

A: The Village currently works with high school students at selected schools in the Greensboro, NC area. There is no requirement for the boys we mentor. During our first week in the schools, The Village hosts "Adoption Week," which allows the younger students to adopt their big brother. We want them to have a voice in who they choose to impact them.

Q: Can girls join The Village?

A: Unfortunately, The Village is catered to serving and mentoring males only. We do, however, implement many opportunities where women can volunteer and participate in some of our events throughout the year. Keep up with us to find out more!

Q: Can I get involved with The Village as an incoming freshman?

A: Absolutely! As we strive to mentor and build the young men in our community, it is our hope that this organization not only promotes progressive growth in our little brothers, but the big brothers as well. We believe that as freshman, you have something to offer to these young men and we want to give you the opportunity to showcase your gifts and abilities.

Success! Message received.
